Perceived color contrast under spot illumination increases significantly compared to measures taken under homogeneous illumination. A similar increase is observed using CRT simulations. This discovery suggested to study the interaction between space articulation and color appearance by using either CRT simulation or spot illumination. A model of human visual perception (ACE) has been applied to some experimental display in order to verify its ability in predicting psychophysical data. ACE turn out to be a powerful model to predict human visual perception. Developing a computational tool like ACE, has the advantage that particularly complex configuration can be previously analyzed by it and successively tested by using psychophysics method...
