The in vitro culture of Actinidia chinensis has been widely studied (Harada, 1975; Bini, 1979; Hirsch et al., 1979; Quoirin et al., 1979 ; Standardi, 1981, 1982, 1983) and several commercial laboratories use micropropagation for a large scale production. However, the different behaviour of cultivars in in vitro culture has not been thoroughly tested.
