The aim of the study was to develop a microarray platform for milk pathogens detection. The method is based on the use of a ligation detection reaction coupled to a universal array. The probes were designed for detecting Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Staphylococcus spp. (Coagulase Negative Staphylococci), Streptococcus bovis, Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus, Streptococcus canis, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus parauberis, Streptococcus uberis, Mycoplasma spp., Salmonella spp., Bacillus spp., Campylobacter spp. The preliminary results demonstrated a high discriminative power and the specificity of the probes tested
