A series of coniugates bearing a 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline motif linked to substituted 7-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-ones was synthesized and assayed through calcein-AM test in Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells overexpressing P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and closely related multidrug resistance associated protein 1 (MRP1) to probe the interference with efflux mechanisms mediated by P-gp and MRP1, respectively.
