A useful technique for the preparation of particulate autograft and the subsequent removal of the femoral head during total hip arthroplasty in the presence of severe protrusio acetabuli is demonstrated. This simple technique facilitates rapid preparation of autograft for subsequent acetabular reconstruction and allows safe removal of an incarcerated femoral head without risking fracture.Griffith Health, School of MedicineFull Tex
