Musculoskeletal pain and its associations between work related ergonomic and psychosocial factors among computer worker

First time in Lithuania occupational risk factors predisposing complaints of musculoskeletal pain in computer working population are investigating in this doctoral dissertation. Associations between ergonomic as well as psychosocial risks factors and musculoskeletal pain are investigated in this research. 513 workers of Kaunas government institutions that were a part of public administration sector, whose work is directly related to computer use were investigated during questionnaire survey and direct observation. Frequencies of musculoskeletal complaints were evaluated by Nordic Questionnaire. Ergonomic risk was evaluated by RULA method adapted for computer work, psychosocial work environment – by Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire. Associations between musculoskeletal pain in various localizations and individual characteristics and work related risk factors (ergonomic and psychosocial) were analyzed in this work. Also the level of occupational stress and its relation with musculoskeletal complaints were investigated.
