International audienceThis book presents a reevaluation of the gravettian lithic industry from Isturitz cave (Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France) by a confrontation between the material from old excavations (Passemard and Saint-Périer collections) and those from the sieving of about 1 cubic metre of the spoil from Saint-Périer excavations. The study demonstrates the presence of a rich diversity of lithic points that justifies the elaboration of a typology which still remains to refine. Moreover, in the absence of precise stratigraphic and geological data, this work confirms the apparent homogeneity of the Gravettian with Noailles burins given by old excavations and density of archaeological levels.
