International audienceThe power transfer efficiency in Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) systems depends on the field distribution supported by the transmitter and the receiver. A network analysis is here developed to characterize the effect of the field distribution supported by the transmitter and the receiver over the power efficiency of the system. Numerical results show that a Bessel-Gaussian-like distribution exhibits better power transfer efficiency with respect to the other considered field distribution. Such phenomenon is attributed to the non-diffractive nature of the radiated energy. © Institution of Engineering and Technology. All Rights Reserved
