Bu tezde, ikinci mertebeden bir boyutlu eliptik problemlerin çözümü için süreksiz Galerkin (SG) yönteminin temel anlayışını pekiştiriyoruz. Bu yöntem, hesaplama bölgesinin bir bölüntüsü üzerinde tanımlı süreksiz parçalı polinomları içeren sonlu eleman uzaylarına dayanmaktadır. Bu nedenle, bir boyutlu eliptik problemler için temel fikirlerini ve uygulamalarını verdiğimiz sonlu elemanlar yöntemine (SEY) kısa ve öz bir giriş yaparak başlıyoruz.
