Interventionelle Kinderkardiologie Entwicklungen, Trends und Grenzen

Significant progress has been made in pediatric interventional cardiology over the past 20 years. This article provides a brief overview of the current situation, state of the art and key trends in pediatric interventional cardiology with respect to the most commonly performed procedures. Nowadays, many problems in congenital heart disease can be managed in the catheter laboratory; however, cardiac catheterization is not always the better alternative to surgery. Good cooperation of all participating disciplines (diagnostics, intervention, pediatric cardiac surgery) is essential to find the best solution for the patient.(VLID)339315
