PROPAGANDA ISIS MELALUI MEDIA ONLINE

Globalization that triggers the development of information and communication technology is expected to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information across the country. Classial communication that utilizes printed media slowly repleaced with new media-based internet networks whih are easier and cheaper to use by citizens. ISIS is one of the organizations of modern terrorism utilizing online media, especially social media such as facebook, twitter, and youtube as a means of distribution of propaganda disguised as a kind of “dakwah” to attract symphatizers general public, especially young people who are not educated either formally or religion. This research uses descriptive method by collecting literature from books, the internet, journals, and scientific articles. ISIS propaganda made fully compatible with the concept of propaganda and cyber terrorism, which is used in this research. Propaganda is an idea or remark exaggerated to inluence others and the public in order to agree with the propagandist. And cyber terrorism is a method of terror use by radical/separatist by utilizing internet-based new media. ISIS network utilizing the internet to spreads terror and propaganda in order to expand their network and the movement of their organization. From this research can be seen that the techniques of propaganda conducted by ISIS groups differ according to the target audiences. Fear propaganda is used to a group o islamophobia, while testimonial and card stacking propaganda aimed at supporters
