Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) has been adopted as a modern water management strategy to store water into subsurface during surplus periods for future recovery. As one application of MAR, dry well is installed in vadose zone and can be used to facilitate infiltration of recharge water through an unsaturated formation into the underlying aquifer. In this study, we investigated the feasibility of applying dry wells in Harris County, Texas. Harris County is located in southeastern Texas and contains Houston, the fourth largest metropolitan area in the US.
