Relación entre violencia e integración social en las aulas de Educación Primaria

The aggressiveness in the school classrooms is a growing up phenomenon that is now in the center of the social concern. This study was conducted in a Elementary School Center at The Principality of Asturias, and aims to est ablish the relationship between the interactions the children make with their peers and the violent behaviors inside of the school based on the age and gender. Participants were 132 students. The results support the idea that boys show more violent behavio r than girls, the age issue was significant (the upper grade of the student means more use of the violence). Besides the kids seen by their teacher as violent are rejected and less popular in the class; this does not happen in the case of both girls a nd the children of the lower grades, because there is not a significant correlation between aggressiveness and integration into the group.La agresividad en las aulas de los centros escolares es un fenómeno que se está observando con una creciente preocupación social. El estudio se ha realizado en un centro concertado de Educación Primaria del Principado de Asturias, siendo su objetivo establecer la relación entre las interacciones que los niños realizan en su grupo de iguales y las conductas violentas de ésta en los centros escolares, en función del género y la edad. Los participantes son 132 alumnos. Los resultados confirman que los niños presentan una mayor aparición de conductas violentas que las niñas, siendo significativa la variable edad (los niños de los cursos superiores ofrecen índices de agresividad mayores que sus compañeros de los cursos inferiores). Igualmente, los niños vistos por sus profesores como agresivos son los rechazados y menos populares entre su grupo de clase; ello no sucede tanto en el caso de niñas como en el de niños de cursos inferiores, al no encontrarse correlaciones significativas entre agresividad e integración en el grupo
