Desarrollar un sistema interactivo aplicando realidad aumentada para el desarrollo de la lectoescritura utilizando el método de enseñanza Clave Fitzgerald en niños con discapacidad auditiva

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that complements the perception and interaction with the real world and allows the user to be in a real, enhanced environment with additional information generated by the computer. This technology is being introduced in new areas of application such as education. The inclusion of technologies in education has had a high impact in recent centuries, so that latest research has focused on designing different systems that can promote the education of children using technology. The AR allows to include virtual data, such as multimedia content based on physical interaction, supported by a real-world object. For this, a mobile device is needed, in such a way that the interaction is portable, and at the same time it motivates the child during his / her learning in reading and writing. On the other hand, a deaf child faces many difficulties in different areas, such as: social, emotional and cultural. Therefore, a deaf child who does not have hearing aid must learn to communicate through writing to achieve communication with society. The learning process of the reading of the deaf child is difficult, since it lacks the sense of hearing and must memorize each of the words visually. In addition to being a child who has a limitation, his metaphor of interaction is different compared to a child in regular conditions. The main channel of communication of a deaf child is visual, therefore the presentation of the pictograms must allow the child to understand the meaning of the word through visual correspondence, by means of a pictogram.La Realidad Aumentada (RA) es una tecnología que complementa la percepción e interacción con el mundo real que permite al usuario estar en un entorno real aumentado con información adicional generada por el ordenador. La inclusión de las tecnologías en la educación han dado impacto en los últimos siglos, la RA permite incluir datos virtuales como contenido multimedia a partir de la interacción física apoyada por un objeto del mundo real. Para ello se necesita de un dispositivo móvil inteligente, de tal manera que la interacción sea portable, y a la vez logre motivar al niño con discapacidad auditiva durante su aprendizaje en la lectoescritura. Por otra parte, un niño con discapacidad auditiva se enfrenta a muchas dificultades en diferentes ámbitos, como: social, emocional y cultural. De modo que, un niño con discapacidad auditiva, que no tenga implementos de ayudas auditivas debe aprender a comunicarse a través de la escritura para lograr comunicarse con la sociedad, en relación al proceso de aprendizaje de la lectoescritura del niño con discapacidad auditiva, es difícil, ya que carece del sentido de la audición y debe memorizar visualmente cada una de las palabras. Nuestro objetivo frente a esto, fue desarrollar una aplicación móvil que usa realidad aumentada con la enseñanza de la clave de Fitzgerald para niños con dicha discapacidad, donde también instituciones educativas y familiares de estos niños puedan emplearla, es por eso qué, entregamos una aplicación móvil para Android y tabletas, “Lectoescritura con Fitzgerald 2.0” haciendo entrega de una caja con 52 fichas en madera a la maestra Sandra Cano
