For month of January , 1964A total of 1,601 human isolations of salmonellae were reported during January 1964. This represented an increase of 476 isolations above the total (1125) reported during the same perlcd last year. In contrast, the 400 reported non-human isolations represent declines of 125 from the number (525) reported during January 1963, and 13 from the number (413) reported laGt month.Included in this month's report is a summary of the investigation of an interstate outbreak of typhimurium gastroenteritis traced to contaminated custard-filled doughnuts.
