Malignant melanoma is the most deadly form of skin cancer due to its quick metastatic spread and the development of resistance to available treatments. MITF (Micropthalmia-associated Transcription Factor) is a transcription factor and master regulator of melanocyte lineage development and melanoma physiopathology.
