Freedom of religion is considered one of the fundamental rights in liberal societies, long established in the regional European context. However, even a brief analysis of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, with regard to the application of such right to non-Christian immigrants in Europe, shows how problematic and how limited the application of the right still is in our modern societies
