This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of the book. The book describes a new approach for research of the Roman empire by focusing on the sensory properties and affectiveness of its material culture and generated by its written sources. It illustrates how taking a sensory approach to specific aspects of Roman society and culture enriches and increases the understanding of their significance and brings new perspectives to the interpretation of the Roman world.
