El gobierno de Evo Morales: entre nacionalismo e indigenismo

In the midst of growing difficulties, the government of Evo Morales is promoting changes on the basis of the strength of his party and the lack of definition in his project for reforming the State, with a mixture of nationalism and indigenism. Combining a radical rhetoric with moderate political decisions, the Movement Towards Socialism issued a decree nationalizing the oil and gas industry, but did not break altogether with the foreign companies. In the same way, the government has still not decided how, in the Constituent Assembly, to resolve the conflict between the demand for autonomy in the Departments and the demands of peasants and the indigenous population. If it is not to be overcome by an increasing polarization, the government will need to articulate the national-popular impulse, the civic-regional pressures and the historical ethnic-cultural demands into a new hegemonic project.En medio de crecientes dificultades, el gobierno de Evo Morales lidera un proceso de cambio caracterizado por la fuerza política de su partido y la indefinición de su proyecto de reforma estatal, que mezcla nacionalismo e indigenismo.
