From the beginning, the Mexican presidential elections were characterized by low punches and dirty-war tactics. Finally, the results announced on July 2 confirmed the worst possible scenario: a marked polarization and a slim margen, less than 1%, between the governing party¿s candidate, Felipe Calderón and the left-wing leader Andrés Manuel López Obrador. In this context of uncertainty and anxiety, López Obrador denounced a fraud and launched a movement of civil resistence whose objectives are out of line with judicial logic.
