The objective of this study was to obtain indicators of production traits and to determine the effect of genotype on those traits in Creole chickens. The study was carried in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, which has a tropical sub-humid climate. The genotypes of the hens (n= 308) were: homozygous naked neck, hetero-zygous naked neck and normally feathered, and they were born by artificial insemination from a population of Creole birds. The birds were kept individually in cages from week 18 to week 39 of age, and were given commercial food with 16% crude protein and 2900 kcal/kg of metabolizable energy, 3.5% calcium and 0.44% phosphorus.
