Education in confinement is an extremely complex scenario. Educational institutions working within the penitentiary system present an atmosphere of constant tension. This atmosphere is not only a result of the very nature of the alumni, but also a result of the dynamics of the institution, in which security issues are prioritized. In the first place, this paper analyzes the institutional contexts involved, namely prision and school, taking into consideration their origins and current state of affairs.
