TRANSICIONES CONSTITUCIONALES Y CONSOLIDACIÓN DE LA DEMOCRACIA A ALBORES DEL SIGLO XXI

This article states the partial success of democratic liberal constitutionalism as a legitimating instrument in the processes of the discolonization of the XX century and of the modernization of the constitutional structures in Central and Oriental Europe at the fall of the communist regimes, and likewise, as a resistance instrument to face the authoritarian attacks in Latin America. The text analyzes the different processes of democratic transition in the globalization context with different social-economic and cultural contexts and the difficulties they have faced.Este artículo plantea el éxito parcial del constitucionalismo liberal democrático como instrumento legitimador en los procesos de descolonización del siglo XX y de modernización de las estructuras constitucionales en Europa Central y Oriental a la caída de los regímenes comunistas, como asimismo, como instrumento de resistencia frente a los embates autoritarios en América latina. El texto analiza los distintos procesos de transición democrática en el contexto de globalización, con diferentes contextos socioeconómicos y culturales y las dificultades que ellos han enfrentado
