Devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe has been and still is very strong. Many pilgrims come to her holy house from all parts of the world to take part in festivals honouring her. One of the most illustrious figures displaying his faith in her is Alphonse V of Portugal. A good example of it is the testimony found in one of the unpublished manuscripts on the miracles of the Virgin of Guadalupe which are kept at the Archive of the Royal Monastery of Guadalupe (Cáceres), gathering the miracles mediated by the saint during the 15th Century.
