Objective/Method: We evaluate the relationship between the general condition of the patient and its association with ocular diseases like scleritis. We also emphasize the importance of a systemic screening when searching for associated pathologies in order to obtain an effective treatment. Discussion: Scleritis is an inflammatory disease of the sclera that can be associated to serious ocular complications. 40 to 50% of patients with scleritis could develop associate infectious or rheumatic pathologies. A systemic screening of patients with scleritis is very important.
