After its independence from the FSU, Estonia has attained economic shock reforms focused on the EU accession. As a result, its financial and banking system have been modernized and more efficiency has been achieved. In this paper, the role played by the Estonian CBA and its connection with the financial sector are analyzed, and some lessons to adopt in other neighboring countries are drawn. The main finding of this working paper is to show that a CBA attracts foreign capital, stabilizes inflation rates, accelerates monetary integration in optimal currency areas, and creates employment and economic wealth
