Del filòsof com a intel·lectual a l'intel·lectual mediàtic

The widespread use of the word ¿intellectual¿ has its origin in the ¿affaire Dreyfus¿ (France, 1894-1898) and the agreement of a group of individuals coming from diffferent professions that used the press to show this injustice. Since then, the term ¿intellectual¿ has been used to describe a person or a group of people. This does not mean that before the ¿affaire Dreyfus¿ intellectuals didn¿t exist, but rather that until then, people who had an intellectual function were called ¿thinkers¿, ¿philosophers¿ and ¿learned people¿. This article presents the origin and evolution of the concept of the intellectual, proposes a typology of intellectuals, and analyzes the sometimes uneasy relationship of the intellectual with the mass media in order to determine who exercises the function of intellectual nowadays
