Los estudiantes de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y Las Instituciones Universitarias

To better understand the stance of the students in relation to the entities of democracy and government within the University, a survey focusing on these topics was administered to the student body. In this inspection, we present our findings in relation to the university¿s government. The sample was designed to measure 100 cases of each of the 13 faculties within UBA, focusing on students in their 3rd year of each respective curriculum. This selection of students promised for a proper familiarity with the institutional issues of the university, as they held necessary experience. The sample was collected during the second semester of 2002. With this information, we were able to construct an ¿ideal council¿ primarily based on the enrolled student¿s opinions and the desired manner in which to hold the elections (through direct vote, indirect representation, with or without weighted vote). To add, we also present findings derived from a test concerning levels of consciousness in relation to the university¿s governmental issues, as well as a cross analysis of these issues to those previously mentioned. This information is a portion of the research described within The University within the democracy and the democracy within the university, which in turn was developed within the Instituto de Investigaciones Gino Germani, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales of the UBA.Para conocer la forma de posicionarse de los estudiantes sobre el significado de la democracia y del gobierno universitario llevamos a cabo una encuesta sobre diversos temas. Presentamos aquí las referidas específicamente al gobierno universitario. La muestra está diseñada con 100 casos por cada una de las trece Facultades entre los estudiantes que cursaban materias en torno al tercer año de las respectivas currículas, para que contasen con una trayectoria suficiente como para encontrarse informados sobre la vida institucional de la Universidad. El trabajo de campo se llevó a cabo durante la primera mitad del segundo cuatrimestre del 2002. Establecimos así como debería estar compuesto el ¿consejo ideal¿ de gobierno de las facultades según la opinión estudiantil, así como sus pareceres sobre las formas de elección (directas, indirectas, con o sin ponderación). También transcribimos aquí los resultados que arrojó un test de información sobre la vida institucional universitaria y su relación con las opiniones antedichas.
