Biopsia prostática multifragmentaria

Multi-cores biopsy is a very useful procedure in the diagnostic of cancer of the prostate with better specificity results, statistically significative and without side effects. This documents includes a briefly revision of the history of the Prostate Biopsy, and emphasis is made in the importance of seek deeply in the diagnostic of small lesions, PIN and atipic prostate hyperplasia. Besides, it offers a research about a total of 221 patients and the complete technique used is described. ¿T¿ and Rank Sum Tests were used for the statistical analysis of the results.La biopsia con múltiples fragmentos representa una ayuda eficaz en el diagnóstico del cáncer de próstata, pues aporta mayor especificidad con un alto índice de positividad estadísticamente significativo y con mínima morbilidad. El presente artículo contempla una revisión somera de la historia de la Biopsia Prostática, haciendo énfasis en la evolución y en la necesidad de afinar los métodos para el diagnóstico de lesiones pequeñas, así como aclarar o ratificar los casos de PIN e hiperplasia atípica. Además, se presenta un estudio desarrollado sobre la base de un total de 221 enfermos. Se describe con detalle el método utilizado y se analizan las variantes usando la prueba ¿T¿ y Rank Sum Test
