Purpose: To determine whether intensive care unit (ICU) admissions for odontogenic infections have increased during the past decade and whether certain clinical features are associated with a greater rate of ICU admission. Materials and Methods The data from patients undergoing surgery for odontogenic infections at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in the 24 month from January 2003 to December 2004 were compared with those from patients treated from January 2013 to December 2014. A χ2 analysis was used to compare the demographic, admission, and clinical patient data in each cohort.
