Estudo para minimização e reaproveitamento de resíduos sólidos de fundição

The first residues did not cause great impact on the environment, for being the majority of organic origin. With the industrialization and the growth of the population the generated volume and types have been increased, provoking environment, social and economic impact. In order to reverse this aspect diverse, concepts and methods have been considered and applied, among them it can be cited the Cleanest Production and the Zeri Method. The Cleanest Production applied to the companies, tries preventively to diminish the volume and the toxicity of its residues and the Zeri Method through conglomerates of companies, the total exploitation of that potential raw material. In that direction, the exploitation of molding sand of 5 foundries industries in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR was evaluated. To reach that objective it was tried (i) to know the reality of the foundry sector of the city of Ponta Grossa; (II) to identify and to quantify the solid residues of casting in the city of Ponta Grossa; (III) to confirm molding sand residues as the residue that presents the greatest generated volume and the biggest problems in its reutilization (IV) to analyze the internal reutilization of the molding sand (v) to develop an instrument of collection of data. The conclusion is there is idleness in the castings of Ponta Grossa and is economically, the regeneration of sands is viable, making it possible the generation of new companies.Os primeiros resíduos não causavam grandes impactos ao ambiente, por serem a maioria de origem orgânica. Com a industrialização e o crescimento da população aumentaram o volume e os tipos gerados, provocando impactos ambientais, sociais e econômicos. A fim de reverter este quadro diversos conceitos e métodos têm sido propostos e aplicados, entre eles pode-se citar a Produção Mais Limpa e o Método Zeri. A Produção Mais Limpa aplicada às empresas procura, preventivamente, diminuir o volume e a toxicidade de seus resíduos e o Método Zeri através de conglomerados de empresas o aproveitamento total desta potencial matéria prima. Neste sentido, avaliou-se o aproveitamento da areia de moldagem de 5 fundições na cidade de Ponta Grossa - PR. Para atingir este objetivo procurou-se (i) conhecer a realidade do setor de fundição da cidade de Ponta Grossa - PR; (ii) Identificar e quantificar os resíduos sólidos de fundição no município de Ponta Grossa; (iii) confirmar resíduos de areia de moldagem como o resíduo que apresenta maior volume gerado e maiores problemas no seu reaproveitamento; (iv) analisar o reaproveitamento interno da areia de moldagem (v) desenvolver um instrumento de coleta de dados. Chegou-se a conclusão que existe ociosidade nas fundições de Ponta Grossa e é viável economicamente a regeneração das areias possibilitando a geração de novas empresas
