This thesis work is based on the literature studies and a detail evaluation of Service Node application in order to investigate how an IoT network can be setup to achieve automation with service andmaintenance of smart building environment. A building in the context of this thesis work is a multistoried residential or commercial facilities having equipments and machineries such as elevator, ventilation, and equipment for managing powers and energy consumption etc. The literatures for this study are carefully chosen in order to find the components that would form the IoT network that is suitable in the context of smart building environment.
