In this paper, we evaluate the bit error rate (BER) performance for Downlink communication of LTE M-QAM system when MIMO decoding algorithms are employed. As the number of antennas increased, the transmission rate was increased as well. And the bigger diversity gain could be achieved when the ML(Maximum Likelihood) method, a sub-optimal algorithm in MIMO decoding algorithms, was used
