In this paper, Interior Permanent Magnet Synchtoruous Motor (IPMSM) design method for reduction of cogging torque and torque ripple is described. While the rotor is placed in a fixed state, motor is designed by considering stator slot-opening width or skew of the stator. After analysis of the designed motors, the resulting values were compared with each other
