A lot of test methods have been proposed and standardized to determine losses of induction motors. Different countries around the world have been collected from those test method. In this paper, a comparison of the measurement procedures-IEEE112-Method B, IEC 34-2, and recently published IEC 60034-2-1- is clarified. The main discrepancies between the various standards are the way of quantification of the stray load losses (SLLs), the stator resistance at the load test, and the core losses with the influence of the voltage drop compensation.
