Valencian industrialists during the first years of Franco regime

Treball Final de Grau en Economia. Codi: EC1049. Curs acadèmic: 2018-2019The economic policies in Spain during the period of Francoism have been widely studied. However, there are few analyses that focus on the economic situation of a concrete region. With a long artisan tradition, the industrialization in Valencia has faced in the 50s decade big difficulties that restrained their correct development. The main objective of this study is to analyse the point of view that the industrials and specialised technicians had about the economic situation of Valencia, as well as to study and compare those theories with different schools of thought. In this paper we overview the main economic sectors of this period in Valencia and study the behaviour of the public administrations and Valencian industrials in front of the different problems that they had to face, as the lack of raw materials, infrastructures and monetary, trade or social policies
