International audienceIn 2008, the “Cave Art Dating” project (in French: Projet “Datation Grottes Ornées” (DGO)) undertook archaeological research at Les Deux-Ouvertures cave (St-Martin-d’Ardèche; France). This research was intended to renew the chronological knowledge regarding the periods of use and decoration of the palaeolithic rock art caves in the Ardèche River region. In parallel with still ongoing studies at les Deux-Ouvertures and some fieldwork at la Tête-du-Lion cave in 2009, research has also been conducted since 2011 at Points cave (in French: “Grotte aux Points d’Aiguèze”) to which this special issue of Karstologia is dedicated.
