This region is characterized by the unique nature and environmental conditions, combining two physical-geographical regions: sub- Arctic and Arctic moss-lichen tundra and permafrost conditions. The recent changes in global climate and overall warming highly contribute to the degradation of the tundra environment and increases cryogenic slope processes.
