Some theories and technical approaches used to characterize the computer-assisted composition process are presented. Theories and techniques unusually used in the field of computer music are applied to the numerous problems raised by a musicology of electroacoustic music and its genetic ontology. A critical deconstruction of methods and tools used to characterize musical creation is developed and a novel conceptual tool is exposed, and formalized. The notion of object, which permits a multiscalar reading of the creative process, is described and an adaptation of the traditional electroacoustic toolkit is made neccesary by the object considered as a multiscalar seme.
