Starting from optical spectrum of signals modulated with different QAM formats the project will consist on developping machine learning algorithms to identify key parameters that allow to detect the modulation format and to estimate impairments affecting the signal.The knowledge of the variations of the polaritzation of the transmitted signal in reception has become a main issue in optical fibre transmissions since the implementation of the coherent detection. Coherent detection needs the polaritzation of the LO and the received signal be the same or recover two orthogonal polarizations of the received camp and recover the signal using a DSP.
