The present event-related brain potentials (ERP) study investigates questions concerning the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying the processing of semantic and morphosyntactic information in French sentence comprehension. Using an audio/visual sentence-picture matching paradigm, we investigate two types of anomalies: (i) lexico-conceptual semantic mismatches between visually presented actions and spoken verbs, and (ii) morphosyntactic number mismatches between the visually presented image and the spoken sentence.
