Note:The Lattice Gas Cellular Automata method is a useful approximation for modeling fluids. It deals with systems of particles that move with a discrete set of velocities from site to site on a regular lattice. Such systems show fluid-like behavior in the appropriate limit. We first study the theory of LGCA using the conventional methods of Statistical Mechanics. We start from the microcanonical description of LGCA and investigate the conditions for fluid-like macroscopic behavior.
