Studies on the immunobiology of murine giardiasis using hybridoma technology

Note:Anti-G. muris monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were obtained from the spleen but not mesenteric lymph node (MLN) cells of mice that were immunized with whole or with solubilized trophozoites and from MLN but not spleen cells of infected mice. Of the 40 mAbs tested, 11 were directed against epitopes containing carbohydrates. Two MLN cell derived and 3 spleen cell derived mAbs were found to be cytotoxic to G. muris trophozoites in vitro.
