Note:The role of calcium-activated phospholipid-dependent protein kinase [protein kinase C] in the regulation of renal phosphate [Pi] reabsorption and vitamin D metabolism was studied in Hyp mice and Pi-deprived mice, which exhibit alterations in these renal functions. Protein kinase C activity was elevated in renal cytosolic fraction from Hyp mice, whereas brush border membrane [BBM] and mitochondrialprotein kinase C was comparable in normals and mutants. Pi deprivation elicited a decrease in BBM protein kinase C in normal mice, and an increase in mitochondrial protein kinase C in both genotypes. Similar substrates were demonstrated in subcellular fractions from both genotypes, with an additional cytosolic substrate in Hyp mice.Nous avons ...
