This is an 'open source' open score edition of the 48 fugues and 1 prelude from Johann Sebastian Bach's 'Well-tempered Clavier'. All of the typesetting was done using Lilypond (lilypond.org), an open source music notation software, and the scores are offered in PDF format for ease of use and printing, as well as in the source format known as .ly files. The primary source is the 1866 Breitkopf & Härtel Bach-Gesellschaft Ausgabe, which is in the public domain. All of these files are free to be used by any person in any way. The preparation of this edition was made possible by an OER grant from the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching
