This article points out a new narrative movement in current Spanish literature (2000-2009) called "narrativa anacr nica postcolonial" and outlines the theoretical differences between this and the current Spanish historical novel of postcolonialism. Through the analysis of approximately twenty novels published in the last decade this article highlights the holistic nature of the novels regarding their historical insights into the Spanish colonies in North Africa
