This particular study was conducted using an action research approach to highlight efforts to modify the current junior high leadership option course at a small rural school in Alberta to help students become more involved in leadership activities that positively affected the atmosphere in the school. Students in the course had the freedom to use their individual talents and skills to carry out projects and activities that enhanced the atmosphere in the school.
