The Understanding Community report, commissioned by Irish Aid, Oxfam and Concern Worldwide, was a ground breaking study into the perceptions of local community members in four diffent locations in Timor-Leste: Golgota in urban Dili, Luha Oli in Venilale, Nanu in Fatumean and Sarelari in Luro. The report drew together a range of quantitative and qaulitative methods in order to understand key dimensions in community life, not just in terms of people's education, health and livelihoods, but in the belief systems that underpin the sustainaiblity and security of people living day-to-day in the new country.
