ANALISIS JARINGAN SOSIAL PETANI KOPI DI DESA ARGOTIRTO KECAMATAN SUMBERMANJING WETAN KABUPATEN MALANG

Indonesia is well-known as an agrarian country with a great amount of natural resources and commodities, one of them is coffee bean. Coffee bean has become an important commodity in the economy of the world and significant trade value for both developed and developing countries. Yet, coffee is a commodity which has been suffering for a long time with excess of supply and short-term supply shortcomings. Problems that occur to farmers are also mostly because financial resources tht are obtained faster. The proper solution is an economical agricultural system that can make money more rapidly and stable on the line that connects traders and farmers. Studying social science to be understood widely is necessary to be holistic view from several different perspectives in order to produce a comprehensive understanding which does not cause confusion to the science itself. In general, sociology is classified into social science group, and as a specific discipline of social science when traditional social science does not discuss the history of mankind behavior. Therefore, in this research we will learn about the relationship between communities of coffee farmers more deeply with Analysis of Coffee Farmer Social Network. The Purposes of this research are: a) knowing the social network among coffee farmers; b) knowing the social network between coffee farmers and traders; c) knowing the relationship between the social networks and the sustainability of coffee farmers. Location is chosen by purposive reason. The research object is the social networks and the subjects are the coffee farmers. The author collected data using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study. Then the data was analyzed by using two ways. The result of this research shows that the coffee farmers eagerly want to increase their production result, they build the network for some factors: 1) market share; 2) the lack of insight of the community about farming; 3) creating ang mantaining the network for their survival
