Toutefois, les liens entre structure du bois et contraintes écologiques restent peu connus. En effet, peu d’études ont combiné les approches anatomique et fonctionnelle. De plus, nos connaissances sont très limitées pour les biomes à grande diversité spécifique, en particulier l’Afrique tropicale.
